Stunning Lake Louise Elopement | One Edition Photography

Moraine Lake Elopement | One Edition Photography | Lake-Louise

Nineteenth century writers would have described these mountains as awe-inspiring, powerful and grand. And indeed they are just that. Inspired by picture from a friend, Jana and Glenn choose Lake Louise for their simple elopement amid the stunning grandeur of the Canadian Rockies. One Edition Photography was on hand to capture each sweet moment and the sweeping beauty of the mountain landscape.

Why did you choose the Mountains for your wedding?

Glenn and I are both from BC and knew we wanted to get married in the mountains and near water. Feels like a piece of home to us.

What was your theme for your wedding?

Simple!

Where did you find your inspiration?

A girl I once worked with was married in Lake Louise and the pictures were stunning. Glenn and I were boyfriend and girlfriend at the time and when I showed him the pictures he said “that’s were we should get married” so we did! It was important to us that our wedding day was about us making this commitment to each other. We had never been to Lake Louise before our wedding but have scene many pictures so we wanted to have that “wow” factor but with just our parents attending.

Biggest Splurge

Belverdere Suite at the Fairmont in Lake Louise

Biggest Savings

Having only four guests.

How did you choose to personalize your wedding?

What was your favorite part of the reception?

We had a steak dinner with our parents on the balcony in the Belverdere Suite at the Fairmont in Lake Louise. When Glenn and I got there after our pictures were taken our moms were both wearing sweaters (Slight chill that night) and I changed into comfortable clothes. I loved how casual it was but it still felt like a dream come true for us. Everything felt so special.

Three things you’re super glad you did?

  • We are so happy we eloped
  • Kept things simple
  • That we got married at Moraine Lake. STUNNING!

What was the biggest challenge in planning your mountain wedding and how did you overcome it?

We had no issues planning our wedding. We hired a wedding planner to help plan it and they took our ideas and went with it. So easy!

How did you find and choose your vendors?

I talked to a few wedding planners to help us out. We choose Postcard Events to plan for us as when I called and talked to them they made things feel so easy and had a quote to us within 20 minutes. So we hired them right away. They gave us a list of photographers and JP’s to pick from. Make up, hair and flowers were picked by our wedding planner and they picked perfectly!

What is your best piece of advice to other mountain brides who are planning their weddings?

Hire a wedding planner! I didn’t know where to start when trying to find a reputable vendors. They took care of everything for us.
