Classic Mountain Style
2010 was a fantastic year for mountain weddings. The dry spell is officially over and mountain weddings are decidedly en vogue.
Style Me Pretty and Ruffled Blog led the pack with the shear number of Mountain weddings they published. Back in March, when I started blogging in earnest, I noticed more than a few swoon worthy mountain weddings posted on Ruffled. Day after day and week after week Ruffled brought dazzling, wonderful, sweet, romantic, and hip mountain weddings. I was in seventh heaven! Style Me Pretty was right in there too from Maine to western North Carolina; from the Canadian Rockies to the mountains of New Mexico, and all the way down the west coast from Oregon to California, Style Me Pretty covered nearly every mountain range in the nation.
It was hard to narrow it down. There are now scores of mountain weddings on all the major wedding blogs. But, I wanted to stay tightly focused and selective. I wanted to choose what I thought were the prettiest, most unique and inspired mountain weddings of 2010. Of course there were many, many lovely mountain weddings in 2010, but these five gave me a complete tummy tumbling, heart soaring, soul touching response.
I have broken my best-of posts into three parts that I will publish throughput the weekend. Today is Part 1: Classic Mountain Style. Look for Part 2: National Park Weddings, and Part 3: Elopements Saturday and Sunday Respectively.
Cozy Mountaintop Wedding
I love the roasty-toasty vibe of this winter ski lodge wedding. It's a little bit rustic, a little bit artsy, and a lot of classic ski lodge vibe. Check out those eclectic paper centerpieces. I also love the the guests were transported up the mountain by a snow cat. Now that's mountain style!

Canadian Rockies
Who didn't go gaga for this amazing mountain wedding. The blogosphere was all a twitter when SMP dropped this gem of a mountain wedding. Seriously, is this not just the epitome of sweet and whimsical? I love the giant pinwheels and the peachy color scheme. This couple had the perfect balance between rustic mountain vibe and playful wedding whimsy.

Gorgeous Mountain Wedding
Gorgeous indeed! Doesn't this wedding totally make you wish it would rain at your wedding? Love the gray skies juxtaposed with the brightly colored umbrellas. And that fire pit looks as cozy as can be. I also love the mixture of western mountain wildflower with vintage hunting lodge decor.
