Sunrise Engagement in Rocky Mountain National Park

There’s something special about watching the sun rise over the Rocky Mountains. The air is crisp and fresh, the colors are incredibly vibrant, and the sense of peace and tranquility is unmatched. If you’re lucky enough to witness this natural wonder, it’s an experience you’ll never forget. And if you happen to be in Rocky Mountain National Park when the sun comes up, you’re in for an even bigger treat. The park is absolutely stunning at dawn, and there’s no better place to watch the sun rise than from one of its many lookout points. So whether you’re planning a proposal or just want to enjoy a beautiful morning, make sure to set your alarm early and head to Rocky Mountain National Park for a sunrise engagement that you’ll always remember.

This engagement session along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park was stunning. Dharmik wore a blue suit and Shree wore a pink sari, which perfectly mirrored the sunrise colors and mountain peaks behind them. They braved the wind and cold at over 11,000′ feet. And although it was a bit challenging with the weather conditions, they came away with some beautiful images.

How did you meet?

We matched on a dating app in 2019, but were over 300 miles away from each other after matching. Due to COVID we couldn’t meet until later in 2020 but spent that year talking and FaceTiming until our first date.

What is your proposal story?

Dharmik, the groom, planned an elaborate surprise under the premise that he and Shree are going to a “friend’s wedding”. He had taken care of all the wedding RSVPs and attire, but actually had all of their family members at the venue for a surprise engagement on Lake Michigan! They had a planned vacation in the Rocky Mountains, where Dharmik had hired Nichole Emerson to do a sunrise engagement photo shoot.

Shree’s engagement band is a platinum ring with 5 diamonds totaling 1.25 carats.

We had wanted to do a Indian engagement photo shoot in the Rocky Mountain backdrop. Shree’s mom had her lengha custom ordered in a light pink color with mirror work embellishment. She paired her outfit with chandelier earrings and a bracelet to compliment her engagement ring. Under Shree’s lengha, she was wearing her hiking boots! Dharmik wore a navy blue linen suit and a linen pink and white shirt from Brooks Brothers.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Comfortable foot wear is a must!

We did not consider how cold it would be early in the morning, but thankfully Nichole had plenty of hand warmers and blankets for us in between photos. Being on the mountain for this special moment was such an incredible and liberating experience for us both.
