Spiked Apple Cider Cocktail and Inspiration Board

Spiked Apple Cider Cocktail

For today’s inspiration I wanted to mix classic and cozy elements of fall, like apple pies and toasty fires, with pretty and romantic florals. The cozy cocktail that inspired this board will surely delight any fall wedding guest, and is simply the best homemade cider you’ll ever taste. Serve this fall classic during cocktail hour or as a signature drink at an intimate wedding and watch your guests glow with appreciation.

While you can always but high-quality apply cider from the orchard or specialty store for this cocktail, you won’t regret the heady, fall sent that fills your house as the apples boil. This recipe makes five cups of cider, so if you’re making it yourself, you’ll want to limit it to cocktail hour or a signature drink for an intimate wedding.

Directions for the Homemade Apple Cider Cocktail: Sugar and Charm from Washington State (the land of apples) created this super simple recipe. In a large stock pot, boil apples, sugar, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, cloves, and water for about an hour. Strain the mixture into a bowl. Pour strained mixture into a pitcher and  and refrigerate. To server, pour 1 shot of Core Vodka made from apples into an 8 oz glass filled with ice. Top with cider. Stir. Get the full step-by-step instructions HERE.

Tips

  • Freeze it. The cider will keep for about seven days in the refrigerator. If you don’t have the time or desire to make apple cider the week of your wedding (and why would you) you can freeze it for up to six months.
  • DO: Use a handcrafted vodka made from apples. Sugar and Charm recommends  Harvest Spirits Core vodka.
  • DON’T: Use fake “apple-flavored vodka.” It’s not the same as vodka distilled from apples and will add a weird taste to your otherwise delightful cider.
