For an unforgettable wedding with a view, exchange vows at a rooftop brewery in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The perfect setting for a rustic chic wedding, a rooftop brewery is the ideal venue for couples who want a unique and memorable experience. With picturesque mountain views as your backdrop, you can say “I do” surrounded by the people you love most. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness!
I’m sure you guessed it since they hosted their wedding at a brewery– Mary and Dustin are beer lovers! They opted to invite their guests from all over the country to one of their favorite places, Highland Brewing Company! What a fantastic and fun day for this gorgeous couple! If you know what it feels like to be in one of your favorite places surrounded by your favorite people, it’s life changing, and I am so happy that Mary and Dustin had so many people join them on their wedding day! Honestly, the weather could not have been more perfect! Plus, the views from this rooftop are beautiful! Peek of mountain tops surrounded guests as they sat and listened to Mary and Dustin’s sweet wedding ceremony.
How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends in college.
What is your proposal story?
While on a hike with our friends at Portuguese Bend in California, Dustin proposed overlooking the ocean.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding
As beer lovers, we knew we wanted a laid back wedding with great food and beer. We love to do DIY projects together, so a lot of our decor and desserts were made by us too.
Tell us about your attire choices.
I chose my dress because it had just the right amount of “sparkle” but was comfortable and unique. We chose Dustin’s tie because it fit into the beer theme, with a hop pattern.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning?
After postponing our wedding due to the pandemic, we really just wanted everyone to be together and have a great time.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
The entire day was a blast. While we didn’t have a wedding party, we rented a big cabin and got ready with all of our friends. We had a great time dancing the whole night too!
Tell us about your wedding flowers.
The bride made the floral arrangements. Incorporating small nods to the brewery theme like incorporating hops into the arrangements was fun and brought everything together.
Tell us about your wedding cake.
The bride and her mom both love to bake, so the wedding cake was a three tier pound cake (the groom’s favorite) made by the bride. Her mom made all of the other cookies, bars, and treats.
Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.
Each table’s centerpiece was a growler with floral arrangements. We collected growlers from important cities like where we met, where we got engaged, and the places we are from.
Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?
The brides bouquet included a pin made by her mom with her something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. Our rings were also both family heirlooms.
