Chelsea and Michael are from Florida and wanted to treat their wedding guests to something completely out of the ordinary. They chose Claxton Farm, just outside of Asheville to tie the knot. Chelsea’s rustic chic style includes a dreamy peach and blush color palette, gorgeous florals and heartfelt details, like incorporating her grandmother’s vintage handkerchiefs. Blue Bend Photography captured every detail expertly, even the guests having fun on the dance floor (not an easy feat with people moving and low, changing light!) I know you’ll just love this one!

Why did you choose the Mountains for your wedding?
We both wanted something completely different than South Florida and we thought it would be amazing to get married in the mountains and have that as our backdrop. We learned that Asheville was such a cool town as well and we knew our friends and family would LOVE visiting for our wedding.
Wedding day theme:
Rustic / Chic
Where did you find your inspiration?
Pinterest… of course!
How did you choose to personalize your wedding?
I had my great grandmothers hankies and used them for some decor items. We also had personalized match books and beverage napkins.
What was your favorite part of the reception?
The music!
What are three things you’re super glad you did?
- Hired a wedding planner.
- Booked a wedding in asheville.
- Booked an amazing musicians for ceremony and reception.
What was the biggest challenge in planning your mountain wedding and how did you overcome it?
Probably living in South Florida and planning a wedding in North Carolina. I think it helped us very much to have hired a wedding planner.
How did you find and choose your vendors?
Most of my vendors I heard of through my wedding planner Cortney. She would send me 5 of each vendor at a time and I would pick one of the five and move on to the next.
What is your best piece of advice to other mountain brides who are planning their weddings?
You will definitely end of spending more than anticipated! So try and budget realistically so you are not caught off guard once you add up everything you spent.
