There are few things I love more than getting a wedding that features an exuberant bride. I think it was Audrey Hepburn who suggested that “Happy girls are the prettiest girls.” I agree! So when I read that Megan was practically sobbing before her outdoor wedding for fear that it would rain, I was shocked. I mean look at this beautiful, happy bride. Luckily it didn’t rain, and, like dozens of Mountainside Bride before her, she wishes she hadn’t worried so much about the weather. I know you’ll enjoy this gorgeous mountain wedding with wildflower details as much as I did, and you’ll love Megan’s Hindsight advice and these amazing photos by Pepper Nix!

Moments you loved, hated, cried, laughed or giggled at
The day of the wedding , it looked like we would get rain. I mean big time. Which was sad because part of Utah was on fire and they desperately needed the rain. BUT ON MY DAY?? My OUTDOOR wedding day?? Pepper was so amazing and calm. She took us places to take pre-wedding shots that I wouldn’t notice the rain, and tried not to make any fuss about it. Pepper was able to get all our family shots in without it looking like I was a sobbing bride!
Then….the sun came out at the very last second and the wedding was on! I cannot describe that feeling. Probably the best in the world, I was getting to marry my love just how we had imagined on top of Flagstaff Mountain! So cool!
Any Special Details You Incorporated?
We also loved the S’mores option, so fun everyone got to make their own- and the Deer Valley team was so amazing, they were making them and serving them as well! Deer Valley did anything I asked, they never said no – S’mores wasn’t even on the menu and they pulled it off!
All of our families came (way more than we thought) for the entire week before – we planned group rafting, 4th of July outings and concerts. It was so wonderful to have our friends and family come so far and not just for a weekend. We really got to spend time with everyone and give them the attention to show how happy we were they were there! Probably by far the best week of our lives!
Everyone is still talking about it!
What you would have done differently, if anything:
Not freaked out about the weather :) How could I have known our wedding would be perfect??!
What’s Your best Hindsight Advice?
Plan the wedding you want and don’t listen to anyone else! There are always people saying you should do this or that – but we did our own thing. No cake, no problem – we had more money to spend on flowers that way! We each made a list of things that was important like music, photographer, clothing and then combined the list. Things at the bottom like favors were the first to go. This ensured anything that was important to us was accomplished!
