I’ll say it again: OMG!!! This is what I love about mountain couples. They have such a sense of adventure. Of course, so do many mountain wedding vendors, including Jay Philbrick, who captured this magnificent day-after photo shoot. My favorite shot (aside from the bride and groom actually standing on the ledge) is the one of the bride going over the edge. There’s this moment for most of us when you lean back in your harness, hundreds of feet up in the air, and you make the decision (albeit somewhat reluctantly) to trust that the harness, rope, anchor set up and belay device are going to actually keep you from splattering on the ground below. Yeah, I know that’s a gnarly thing to say on the wedding blog, but as a 10-year rock climbing veteran, I can say with authority, there is no truer statement. That lean back moment has always made my gut twinge, which makes this shoot even more amazing! Enjoy.
