Lots of lovely and varied mountain weddings around the wedding blogosphere as of late. In case you missed them, check out here. Also a big pat on the collective back of bloggers who participated in the For Japan with Love campaign. It was an amazing success, raising over $55,000!

Beachy Lake Tahoe Wedding

Sparkle and Hay featured a Lake Tahoe wedding with an etsy-infused wedding with a distinctly beachy vibe. How appropriate for the Mountain Sea.

For Japan With Love was a smashing success

So by smashing, I mean the original fundraising goal was blown away. Actually, it was surpassed by a thousand fold. Utterly Engaged and  Ever Ours raised over $55,000 for Shelter Box, a non-profit that provides emergency shelter, and supply kits for families affected by disasters. This is from the For Japan with Love donation site on First Giving.

Each large green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. A whole box costs $1,000 (US), so we're hoping to raise enough to send 5 boxes.

I am just beside myself with amazement and pride for the wedding community. Instead of being able to send 5 boxes, we are able to send 55! And when I say we, I mean the hundreds of wedding, craft, lifestyle, and fashion bloggers who donated.
