Granite Ridge Estate was a top choice for Anna and Jeff’s Maine wedding shot by Apollo Fields; not just for its jaw-dropping views of the Appalachians cascading around them, but for the connection the area had to our groom. Jeff’s family spent countless summer days when he was younger at Camp Winona, just a stone’s throw away from their wedding venue. They were inspired by the farmstead feel of the place and chose a soft and delightful mint green paired with a feminine blush pink. Both shades stood out gorgeously amongst the forestry and the wooden interiors. Aside from details like the beautiful florals from Pooh Corner Farm and the bright bridesmaids’ dresses, we think our favorite aspect of Anna and Jeff’s day are those magnificent windows at their reception. Imagine having your first dance with a view like that behind you. Swoon.
Why a Mountain Wedding?
We love Maine. It is beautiful and somewhat remote, but so enjoyable. The view of Shawnee Peak from Granite Ridge is unbelievable and you can even see Mt. Washington in the distance. It is hard to beat the views of a mountain wedding.
What are three things you’re glad you did?
We are glad we did a first look, didn’t match our bridal party sizes but rather chose to include whomever we wanted and that we spent time on the experience not the tiny little details like over decorating.
What are 3 things you wished you hadn’t done or hadn’t worried about?
We wish we had stressed less about it coming together, the weather, and the bride’s dress needing to be 100% perfect after some minor hiccups.
How did you find your vendors?
We used The Knot a lot but also the preferred vendor list from Granite Ridge. We found the band after seeing a group perform at someone else’s wedding.
What’s your biggest piece of advice for other couples planning a mountain wedding?
The views are worth everything and that alone will be a game changer for your wedding.
