Did you know West Virginia is nicknamed “The Mountain State?” In fact, it’s entirely in the Appalachian region and almost entirely mountainous. Mountains factor into West Virginia’s identity so intimately that the state’s motto is Montani Semper Liberi (“Mountaineers are always free”). Therefore, as a dyed-in-the-wool, mountain-loving girl, it is always a pleasure to publish a West Virginia wedding. Thanks a million to Concept Photography for submitting!

What Inspired Your Vision for Your Wedding
We really wanted everything to be super laid back, but pretty. I loved the idea of a lot of white, silver and blush colors with candle light. He let me run wild ?
Tell Us about Finding Your Venue:
Drew’s dad is one of the developers for the hotel. He used to let us stay for free, which was much needed while we were in school. We had so many wonderful memories there and really didn’t even consider looking for a different venue.
What was Your Biggest Planning Challenge?
The invite list. We really wanted to keep it small, especially as the venue was limited on space. Also, not living in Deep Creek made it worrisome when choosing vendors.
What was your favorite design element of your wedding?
I really loved how the chest in the room and the poles that were throughout the room turned out. I originally wanted to cover the chest, but it became a huge headache. I bought a ton of fabric and candles and had no clue what to do with it all. My sister, her fiancé and the manager at the venue made it wonderful.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
It was all so wonderful. Seeing Drew for the first time, the speeches, everything. However, I will never forget trying to pose our puppy for pictures and Drew looking at me like I was crazy.
