A Hearty Thanks for DIY Circus Wedding Inspiration

Three Lovely Circus-Inspired Posts!

OMG Gaby's Circus inspiration board over at Cap Classique this week was perfect. Gaby has a great eye and I love a superb sense of style. Her board reminded me of a Style Me Pretty circus inspired wedding as well as the carnival-inspired wedding featured on in Martha Stewart Weddings this spring. What's more celebratory than an over-the-top fun and exuberant celebration. So I have decided to write an open letter to those bloggers who feature these out-of-the-ordinary weddings. In this case, circus-inspired weddings.

OK, here's a bit of personal background: In my family, my mom is an infamous letter writer. Whenever something goes wrong or she feels met with injustice, she "writes a letter," typically to a company owner with a cc to the local paper. This style of self advocacy has saved my mom lots of money and has made many wrongs right. I was raised to see letter writing is a vehicle for change. I am also a fan of the Thank you letter. I keep a stack at every desk. So I figured I would marry the two concepts and write a thank you cum change-agent letter to the Inter-wed.

Dear Style Me Pretty, Martha Steward Weddings, and Cap Classique,

A sincere and hearty thank to you for the lovely, sweetly designed Circus Wedding Inspirations Jenna and Jon's amazing real carnival wedding and the lovely circus inspiration board. In the parlance of wedding bloggers, "it was swoon worthy!" There have been a number of fun wedding themes on my mind lately, but a circus wedding has topped the list. I talk about circus weddings whenever I can.

Why? Because I live near Asheville, NC. And Asheville is one of the coolest, funkiest and offbeat cities (outside of Berkeley) that I have ever lived in. I fact, much of Asheville reminds me of Berkeley. The numerous restaurants that serves fresh, local, organic foods; the commitment to supporting local businesses and artists; the tattoos and indy lifestyle. Yet many of the Asheville weddings I see are very classic and very beautiful affairs at say, The Biltmore. Do I love these too? Of course! But I also encourage those creative Asheville brides to submit your weddings! Please!

So it is with gratitude to the fantastic bloggers out there that I show off the beautiful, elegant, and fun circus inspiration to my fellow Asheville brides and destination brides. And encourage them to have a little fun and get into the Asheville vibe.

Thanks a million!
