Without skipping a beat, beautiful Meghan and her handsome beau Armand were set on having an outdoor wedding. The couple reside in Denver, Colorado and they are so accustomed to the grandeur of mountains. They selected The Pines at Genesee with Apollo Fields as their photographer. They wanted a continuation of the rustic charm, so they selected a sweet color palette of navy and yellow. According to Meghan and Armand, it was navy for the mountains and yellow for the sunflowers. Surely, those sunflowers are the icing on the cake in this whimsical wedding.
How did you meet?
Armand and I met at work! We stayed friends after Armand left the company and eventually started dating.
What is your proposal story?
Armand proposed to me on top of Green Mountain.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
About 80% of our guest list was traveling from either out of state or country. We wanted this to be an easy, comfortable and fun experience for them. We spent most of our time and money focusing on the atmosphere (venue, DJ, food, etc) of the wedding. We skipped out on the little things and things that would require our attention on the big day such a photo booths, napkins that matched our colors, the garter belt toss etc.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
When Brian, our DJ, got everyone together for a big group photo! It was so special! The toast Meghan’s sister gave us also meant a lot to us as well.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Ask your venue how they handle issues that arise. If they say they never have issues, RUN. Look for an honest answer! Also if the venue is charging you for every small little thing, I would advise against going with them. All the small purchases will equal one big bill in the end. Try not to get caught up on the small stuff. It will all come together in the end. Remember that you are not only planning a wedding, but also planning a marriage.
