Plus Sized Mother of the Bride Dress Round-up
{A very hearty thank you to ♥ The Knotty Bride ♥ for inspiring this post}
I love how this pulls in the waist for a curvy silhouette

The Hindsight Mom was a plus-sized mom. (That is before learned she was diagnosed with diabetes and subsequently started eating right and exercising. She dropped about a bazillion pounds. You go Mom!)
I like the idea of a plus size mom being a bombshell.
This strapless gown shows a little skin while providing a little coverage below.

But at the time of the wedding, she wore a plus-sized dress. She picked out her own dress. {While planning my own wedding, I came to the conclusion that as long as everyone felt good, I felt good. So everyone pretty much picked out their own outfits on my side of the aisle.} Mom wore a cute back and white polka dot dress to our casual, outdoor, DIY wedding. It was perfect and she looked great.
I love white weddings, especially in the south during the summer.

So the other day, when Knotty Bride tweeted about Chelsea Clinton telling her dad that he needs to lose 15 points, I replied that big parents are ok. After a hearty "amen sistah" from The Knotty Bride, my inspiration became a fevered afternoon of research trying to round up of plus sized mother of the bride dresses.
I love the ruffles on this one

Hmmmm…well…there's not a lot readily available. At least not many advertised as plus-sized mother of the bride dresses. That got me noticing all the dresses see to be made for skinny girls (Like it or not, David's Bridal's well advertised plus-sized line is the notable exception.)
Love the slimming effect of the two tone vertical line

However, I'm a big fan of the cocktail dress cum bridesmaid or Mother of the Bride dress. So if you hunt and peck around, you should be able to find a nice dress at a major department store. I found that Macys has teh best selection.
