Glacier National Park Woodsy Wedding

Norah and Kyle are no strangers to national parks. When one of their friends got married at the ever-majestic Rocky Mountain National Park, they knew that this was the route they had to take for their own nuptials. They settled on Glacier National Park for its incomparable beauty (of course) and its practicality–the pair opted for an adventurous road trip honeymoon with the objective to visit more national parks. When it came to their wedding design, Norah and Kyle kept the motifs simple so as not to obstruct the grandeur of the park and its surroundings. Izaak Walton Inn acted as their venue and it is the cutest cabin-turned-wedding venue we’ve seen. The open floor plan and large windows gave way to the tranquility of the area. Although Honeybee Weddings has a plethora of Glacier-area wedding and elopements under their belt, we’re sure that photographing another one is always a breathtaking experience.

Why a Mountain Wedding?

We fell in love with mountains on our first trip to Rocky Mountain NP in 2016, and especially after a wedding there in 2018. We wanted to share that love of the mountains with those who meant the most to us.

What are three things you’re glad you did?

I’m glad we dragged our friends and family across the country for the weekend. I’m glad we took a group hike together the day before the wedding. I’m glad we took photos outside in the mud and rain, even though the bottom 6 inches of my dress got caked in dirt.

What are three things you wished you hadn’t done or hadn’t worried about?

I can’t really think of a good answer for this… maybe I’m too far removed from the worries of wedding planning now, but truly it was a perfect weekend and I wish I could live it all over again, exactly the same.

How did you find your vendors?

A combination of google, The Knot, and our wedding planner/photographer Honeybee Weddings.

What’s your biggest piece of advice for other couples planning a mountain wedding?

Know what the weather possibilities are and just roll with them! We got some absolutely gorgeous photos in the rain. Otherwise, have fun and enjoy the beauty of your surroundings.
