Lake Tahoe is a jaw dropping location for a destination wedding, and this fall destination inspiration overlooking Lake Tahoe did disappoint with scenic lake, forest, and mountain backdrops. Talia Eliana Events was the designer behind all of the beauty and perfectly executed every element of the shoot, from the location choices to the rentals and more. Our wonderful couple was excited to model for us and getaway from the San Francisco Bay area as they regularly snowboard in Tahoe, so it truly was a getaway destination for them and a chance to love on each other and get some beautiful images while they waited for their own elopement that was coming up shortly after this shoot! The day began with Lake Tahoe themed cookies at the tablescape, then our couple hiked up a short 15 minute trail to Eagle Rock with beautiful mountain and lake views. We ended the day lakeside with toasts and some fun paddle boarding.
What was your design inspiration?
I was really inspired by the year round beauty of Lake Tahoe, but also bringing in that touch of fall color and highlighting that it is an absolutely beautiful location to elope in the fall.
Describe your flowers.
While roses are a beautiful classic wedding staple, we went out of the box and Tan from Oat + Petal Florals executed our beautiful vision of roseless floral installs, including the stunning ceremony pillars, bouquet, and centerpieces that were filled with beautiful maroon and white dahlias and perfectly burnt orange fall foliage.
Describe your cake.
Cookies by Sierra brought in all of the wonderful elements of Tahoe in her custom themed cookies with the shape of the Lake, and the mountains and pines.
Tell us about your attire choices.
For the ceremony gown we chose a beautiful silky flowy long sleeve gown called “Dream” custom designed by bridal gown designer Catrina Munoz Bridal. While this gown is absolutely stunning, our couple switched into a slightly more casual sparkly gold gown from White Fox Boutique and headpiece designed by Natalie Wynn for the hike up Eagle Rock. Having multiple gowns in a day can be practical in circumstances where a hike may call for something more casual.
Describe the tablescape elements.
Talia Eliana Events gathered up all of the stunning rentals including the glassware, plates, beautiful runners, and linens from Celebrations Event Rentals and stylized everything perfectly. The chairs were from Sacramento Event Co and farm table from Simply Sweets and Rentals was a great, slightly rustic touch for our table design. We were able to switch between custom cookies and pretty napkins for design elements. My favorite aspect of the table design was that the single serve charcuterie boards from Cheese Mama Co were not only a delicious part of the meal, but a part of the design and beauty.
