Continuing Trends for 2011: Textured Gowns

Floaty and Textured Wedding Gowns are a Perfect Mixture of Casual + Elegant

I predict 2011 will be the year of casual elegance, which, as a (former) mountain bride, suits my sensibilities just fine.

In fact. there are a number of wedding trends we saw emerge in the past year that show no signs of abating. One of my very favorites is the textured gown trend. Textured gowns allow mountain brides especially to straddle the line between classically elegant and whimsically casual.

We are seeing an emergence of classic silhouettes such as the a-line, and ball gown, but instead of traditional heavy stiff fabrics, 2011 brides are opting for flowing gowns and whimsical textures, which soften the look and make a formal ball gown appropriate for casual mountain settings.

Applique flowers, lacy details, and classic sweetheart necklines are equally at home in a field of wildflowers, a rustic lodge, or a grand ballroom at a fancy resort.
