Family and friends traveled from all over the country for Stephanie and Guy’s wedding, and even a little rain before the ceremony couldn’t dampen all the celebrations of the day! It was an elegant but not over-the-top event, a soft color palette of blush and ivory allowing the venue’s natural beauty and scenery to shine through. Enjoy the thoughtful details and miles and miles of breathtaking views of western North Carolina’s elegant mountain country in these beautiful photos from Jessica Merithew Photography!
What is your proposal story?
We were thrift shopping and he said he found something and got on one knee with the ring. I thought he was joking and really found it but then I quickly realized he was serious.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
The most important thing to us was to not stress out and get caught up in the small things that come up. We were also planning a wedding amidst a pandemic so safety was a priority. Having a venue that was outdoors in a remote area was the best decision.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
Our favorite part of the day was getting to enjoy each other’s company and the ceremony. Our officiant did an amazing job and the weather was perfect. There was a rain storm that passed through at the time the ceremony was supposed to begin.
What did you do for favors?
Out guests stayed on property and we had goodie bags with corkcicle cups and champagne gummy bears.
Why a Mountain Wedding?
We love the mountains and wanted to feel like we were getting away.
What’s your biggest piece of advice for other couples planning a mountain wedding?
Expect beautiful nature to take its course and it will all come together as it should.
