We’re kicking off 2017 with a new kind of post on Mountainside Bride: Honeymoons! Particularly honeymoons that are either super laid back (like mountain couples) or that are full of adventure (also like mountain couples)
So without further adieu, I’d like to kick it off with a feature on Abaco Beach Resort in the Bahamas.
What I love about Abaco Beach Resort (aside from the fact that they are a new Aisle Society Weddings partner) is that is not your run-of-the-mill package resort. It has a super, authentic Bahamian vibe and unique experiences, including dining on a private island, eating what you catch in the ocean and even swimming with wild pigs.
The resort, which is only 165 miles off the coast of Florida, has 72 ocean-front guest rooms and 5 cottages and is situated on 40 acres of beach within Marsh Harbour, on the Out Islands.
What I absolutely love about Abaco Beach Resort is that it offers a true escape the crowds of some of the larger islands. This isn’t the overly-produced, all-inclusive honeymoon packages you’ll find at some of the larger Bahamian resorts. Rather, you’ll find truly relaxing, hassle-free natural island environment with an authentic Bahamian vibe here.
One of the unique things about Abaco Beach Resort is the private dining experiences. For those who bring back their catch, the resort’s chef will gladly cook up a delicious culinary experience that brings out the fresh flavors of the fish!
Honeymooners will enjoy variety of land- and water-based activities, including paddle boarding, diving, island hopping, and even swimming with wild pigs!
Prices start at around $300/ night for an oceanfront room and if you book 6 nights, you get your 7th night for free!
Explore Abaco Beach Resort and find out if it’s right for your laid back, island Honeymoon.
