On a recent trip to Asheville, North Carolina, I had the absolute pleasure to visit a few of the most beautiful and unique wedding venues this mountain city has to offer. While Asheville is most famous for it’s magnificent Biltmore Estate, I wanted to offer a roundup of the best and most unique wedding venues in Asheville as an alternative to The Biltmore. Here are my top picks:
Fondly referred to as “My Beloved Homewood, this historic stone and wood manor is nestled in a secret wooded grove in the heart of Asheville’s post-Victorian Montford District, less than a mile from downtown Asheville. Homewood has been beautifully restored to its original elegance with original hardwood floors, delightfully warm cherry walls, great fireplaces built from local Appalachian stone, and luminous wrought iron chandeliers. Reception packages include 8 hours plus rentals and china. My Beloved Homewood is perfect for elopements and intimate weddings of up to 110 guests. Visit My Beloved Homewood’s website.
Grove Park Inn
Featuring 3 reception options and a terrace ceremony site with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Grove Park Inn offers a delightful mix of unique architecture, stunning mountain views and historic charm. Edwin Wiley Grove, built the Grove Park Inn in 1913 to be “a magnificent lodge, grand enough to mirror the majesty of the mountains.” Situated on Sunset Mountain, the Grove Park Inn can accommodate up to 250 guests, offers onsite lodging and is next to a beautiful 6,400-yard, par-70 championship golf course. The Grove Park Inn is a Historic Hotels of America member, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Visit the Grove Park Inn’s website.
Located in the heart of downtown Asheville, The Venue is a gorgeous loft-style venue with exposed brick walls, barn ceilings and vintage touches that will absolutely inspire the modern bride looking to transform her venue to suit her unique tastes. The spacious balcony area offers guests lovely views of the Blue Ridge mountains. Everything is conveniently taken care from equipment rental, staffing services, bar and catering services and planning services for up to 250 wedding guests. Visit The Venue’s website.
The Grand Bohemian
Although The Grand Bohemian is a new property in the Biltmore Village, the attention to detail that went into building this decadent Old-World inspired hotel will leave your guests feeling as though they stepped back in time into a grand European hunting lodge. The Tudor-inspired exterior fits perfectly with the historic buildings at the entrance to the great Biltmore Estate. The interior features a perfect mix of modern luxury and historic charm dripping with rich rustic detailing, decadent antiques and stunning art pieces valued in the millions. The Grand Bohemian offers onsite lodging and can accommodate up to 200 guests in one of its reception ballrooms. Visit The Grand Bohemian’s website.
