Meridith and Anthony “met” when Meredith noticed Anthony liking all of her fishing photos on Instagram. She looked at his profile and thought he was really cute. She waited to get a DM introducing himself, but it never came. So she decided to message him. Her first words: “creeping on me eh?” And the rest, as they say, is history!

What is your proposal story?

Anthony’s grandfather lives in Blowing Rock, NC and his mother grew up in Blowing Rock as well. We love to visit the Blowing Rock/Boone area or better known as the High Country. One day we had decided that we were going to visit Blowing Rock and go on a hike for the day, little did I know that he was going to propose that day, January 13, 2017. Two of his best friends joined us for the hike, and when we got down to the waterfall we walked out closer to it and that is where he proposed! It is called the Glen Burney Trail in downtown Blowing Rock, NC! He asked me what I would like to do after he proposed, and I proclaimed, “let’s get ice cream!” We always go to an ice cream shop called Kilwins and I must say that it is wonderful! So that’s a little bit about our love story and we couldn’t be happier to spend the rest of our lives with each other!

Tell us about the ring/band. Please be as descriptive as possible.

Anthony gave me his grandmothers ring! A little history about that is that she also lived in Blowing Rock with Anthony’s grandfather. So that is another reason why it was extremely special for us to get engaged in Blowing Rock. We also purchased our wedding bands in a local shop in Blowing Rock/Boone area that one of my close friends own!

Tell us about your engagement shoot outfits and accessories.

We decided to go for the “fall look” since our wedding is in the Fall of 2018! For our first outfit, I was wearing a burgundy top with a brownish hat, while Anthony was wearing a burgundy plaid shirt with khaki pants and wallabies! When we got to the top of Max Patch we changed into our fancier outfit, which for me was a blue long maxi dress, while Anthony was wearing a blue/green plaid shirt with navy pants.

Why a Mountain Engagement?

We have both always loved the mountains. I have worked on Beech Mountain as a Ski Patroller for quite some time now, and Anthony’s family lives in the mountains. So it was just easy for us to decide that we wanted to have a mountain wedding since we both have grown up in that area!

How did you find your vendors?

I found all my vendors by speaking to family and friends about who they used for their perfect wedding!

What’s your biggest piece of advice for other couples planning a mountain wedding?

Look around at different places before making a final decision. It is always good to have a few different places in mind in order to make the right choice!
