Todays mountain wedding is infused with joy, family tradition and pretty peach, pink and white details. Alicia + Daniel wanted a truly exceptional Canadian Rocky Mountain wedding experience for their guests, many of whom were traveling all the way from China. They chose a romantic peach and white color palette and lots of tender details that honored family ties.

Number of Guests: 80
Wedding Day Weather: The weather was absolutely perfect which made for a lovely ceremony and photographs.

Why a Mountain Wedding?

We wanted it to be the perfect romantic setting and give guests a true Rocky Mountain experience, since many of them traveled from China. Therefore the Banff Springs was perfect!

How did you personalize your wedding?

Our wedding was a fairytale from beginning to end! We both love the rocky mountains and the picteresque scenery. We spend a lot of time in the mountains, and we wanted to treat our guests (many of whom traveled from China!) to a true Rocky Mountain experience at the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

The ceremony was outdoors on the terrace surrounded by our closest family and friends, and the romance of the mountains in the background. Daniel and I are quite goofy by nature, so we wanted to have a bit of fun in our ceremony while incorporating many touching tributes and special Chinese traditions, which included cutting locks of each other’s hair to bind with a ceremonial thread. Needless to say, I cut a little more of Daniel’s hair than he had hoped!!!

Our photographer, Nicole Sarah Photography worked with us in the year preceding planning the details of not only our engagement but the full details of our wedding photography experience. We were completely organized and ready to go enjoy ourselves! We donned our running shoes and hiked about 30 minutes into the mountains to capture some whimsical forest and beautiful mountain lake backgrounds. It was so much fun and we didn’t want the experience to end! I’m glad we had a good amount of time to enjoy with each other and the wedding party to let thinks soak in before the reception.

Bride’s Favourite Moment:

The highlight of my day besides getting to marry my best friend? The look on Daniel’s face when he saw me walking down the isle for the first time. It made me forget everything around me. His reaction was incredibly sweet and it was what I had been anticipating for a long time.

Groom’s Favourite Moment:

Seeing my bride for the very first time! I was totally blown away!

Your Best Advice for Mountain Brides

Definitely hire a coordinator and an experienced photographer. They were so organized and allowed us to really just enjoy our experience on such a busy day!

When we decided we wanted our wedding to be a true Rocky Mountain romantic experience, we knew we needed to enlist the help of a coordinator. The concept and details of the wedding were designed by myself, and the day was coordinated by the talented Lisa Grosso of Mountain Bride. We honestly could not have done this without her help. We were able to fully enjoy ourselves knowing that she had a handle on things. We featured Romantic soft pinks and corals that were contrasted by touches of gold and crisp whites, with a lot of inspiration from Pinterest.
