Why did you choose the Mountains for your wedding?

It was my husband’s idea to get married in the mountains. Both of us enjoy the beauty of the peace of the outdoors. He proposed while dog sledding in the mountains so it seemed like the right thing to do to get married there too!

How did you choose to personalize your wedding?

Handmade centre pieces, hand crafted rustic cake stand, homemade jam as favors.

What was your favorite part of the reception?

Catching up with old friends and family whom we didn’t get to see as often.

What are three things you’re super glad you did?

  • Made a lot of the decor ourselves.
  • Kept the wedding to a small size.
  • Got an amazing photographer!

What was the biggest challenge in planning your mountain wedding and how did you overcome it?

We were faced with the difficult decision of canceling our original venue due to lack of communication, 3 months before the wedding.

With jasper being a small community with minimal venues we had to find something in a hurry. My maid of honour found an amazing venue that we ended up going with in the end.

Great family can help with any difficult situation!

How did you find and choose your vendors?

Online research

What is your best piece of advice to other mountain brides who are planning their weddings?

Don’t worry about the weather! My biggest fear was that it would rain, and it did! But it was amazing. The photos turned out beyond our expectations and it was great!
