Winter Utah Elopement in the Snow

Both Alex and Jennie are from Arizona, but they didn’t meet until they lived in Utah. They had dated for over a year and had a unique proposal with Jennie popping the big question on Leap Day because he was “too good to lose.” How cute! Alex and Jennie were planning to have a bigger wedding in Arizona, but it just wasn’t working out with their plans. So, last minute, they planned an elopement on Valentines Day. They only had an officiant and two of their friends there. They live streamed it so their family and friends could watch. What a special, intimate day!

How did you meet?

We had your cliche modern day meet-cute… Tinder! Although it began as just friendship, when Alex confessed his feelings, it took Jennie by surprise. But it didn’t take her heart long to catch up to his.

What is your proposal story?

Jennie popped the question to Alex on Leap Day 2020. She was nervous all evening, and despite the proposal not going quite as planned, they still agreed to be official soulmates forever!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Having our “first look” was definitely a memory we will always keep with us. We were so excited to see each other and be getting married. It was also memorable for our friends and family because they all got to join us virtually. That also made it easier for Jennie and Alex to be completely focused on their mutual love, hopes, and dreams together.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

When caught in the middle of a difficult decision, or just stressed out with the planning, choose to do whatever makes you and your spouse happiest. At the end of the day, it is about YOUR marriage, not your families. Do what feels best/truest to yourselves.

Why a mountain wedding? What’s your biggest piece of advice for other couples planning a mountain wedding?

It was important to us to have a truly picturesque wedding, that we proudly display in our home forever. However, with the many difficult circumstances COVID-19 has created, we needed somewhere free or cheap. So we headed out to local campgrounds and parks in search of a spot that looked beautiful, was easy to get to, and had cell service to be able to live-stream the ceremony to family. Be prepared for the natural elements and how it might affect your photos and mood.
