Have you seen the Spring 2013 edition of Martha Stewart Weddings? I have two words for you: Cornflower and Melon. What an adorably sweet color combination! According to Martha and her team, this color palette complements nearly any style: Vintage, modern, romantic, even rustic. I am particularly in love with that sweet cornflower blue wedding dress!
Where to splurge and where to save
Martha is one of my all time favorites for many reasons. She’s crafty, has great style and knows everyone is on a budget. Of course just because your on a budget doesn’t mean your throwing a $5,000 wedding at the VFW or slashing your guest list to 15. It simply means you have to prioritize. Carefully choosing where to splurge and save, can give your wedding an upscale and polished look for less. For example, set the mood for your wedding by splurging on Smythson’s cerulean blue engraved invitations with subtle orange trim. Then save but choosing simple and inexpensive (but still chic) boutonnieres such as these kumkquat and citrus leave spray for the groom and cornflower with lemon verbena foliage for the groomsman.
In true Martha fashion, she even suggests stamp embossing your own escort cards as and easy and cost effective strategy. Yep, and they’re adorable as well!!!
