Preppy Yellow and Gray Inspiration

Recently a reader emailed me asking for yellow and gray inspiration. I gleefully dug into serious inspiration research to find beautiful details for yellow and gray weddings. Here's what I found: Yellow and gray is an amazingly versatile color palette. Couples who choose a yellow and Gray color palette can be preppy, modern, casual, elegant, rustic, vintage, or handmade. The possibilities are seriously endless. For for the next few weeks I will be throwing a different yellow and gray inspiration post into the mix.

Yellow and Gray color palettes are so versatile. Here pinstripes, gray damask, and delicate gray pom details are fun and elegant for a preppy-inspired wedding. Soft yellows are fresh and clean and allow bolder yellows to pop. Little bits of black, like the wrought iron photo booth frame, ground this preppy wedding, and giving it a bit of edginess.

Double duty refreshments and place cards

I love it when couples work smarter not harder by making their pretty details do double duty. Here pale yellow lemonade in mason jars can also serve a refreshing place cards. This little trick can also be quite eco friendly, as your guests can reuse their glass thus cutting down on the resources needed to wash multiple glasses for each guest.

Mixing bright and pale colors

There is something so sweet about the way colors pop when you mix pale and bright hues. Variations on the same color or mixing hues can be effective with any detail, from favors to place settings; from bridesmaids dresses to bouquets. It's a simple way to reinforce your theme and color palette without being too matchy-matchy.
