Luxe Oregon Golf Course Wedding

Ali and Jeff’s wedding was absolutely stunning, with their ceremony overlooking the mountains on the 18th hole of the Crosswater Golf Course. From the gorgeous flowers that lined the path, to the ceremony on the golf course, to the gorgeous furniture at the tented reception, the attention to detail was incredible. When the weather called for rain, the coordinator had big white tents brought in, which made for the prettiest indoor/outdoor vibe. The rain held off for some stunning portraits and their ceremony and there was even a rainbow that was the perfect touch to an already beautiful day.

How did you meet?

We had a mutual friend that introduced us and put together a kickball team. We got to know each other from the kickball games and afterward the team would meet up for drinks.

What is your proposal story?

It was our third night in our new house we just built, Jeff took me out to dinner and when we came home, the ring was on our kitchen counter. After he proposed, he surprised me and had all of our family and close friends waiting at our local restaurant to celebrate.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).

Our wedding was on the 18th hole of Crosswater Golf Course in Sunriver, Oregon. Everything was outside, so we went with natural colors, blush pink, green, and white. Our style was simple and romantic.

Tell us about your attire choices.

Our attire for the bridesmaids was blush pink dresses. Groomsmen wore navy blue dress pants with a white button up shirt. The groom wore a light blue blazer with navy dress pants.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

We wanted our guests to have a good time and that it was memorable. We chose to splurge on food, drinks and flowers!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Doing our first look with just the two of us was super special. Before we saw each other, we were back to back and read a letter along with our vows that we each wrote to each other. It was the middle of August and it was only 60 degrees and right before the ceremony, it was hailing, thunder and lightning. Luckily for us, the weather cleared up just in time!

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

Our flowers were the main focus point for our decorations. We did simple colors, but went all out on the main pieces. Summer Robbins is who designed and created all of our beautiful arrangements! The groomsmen‘s boutonnieres were little succulents. My bouquet was big with assortment of garden roses that were white next to pink flowers and eucalyptus along with a few succulents stuck in the middle. For the ceremony, Summer created a beautiful ‘U’ shape arrangement that sat on the ground on the 18th hole.

Tell us about your wedding cake.

We did a donut board as our main desert! Our cake was simple three-layered white cake with flowers on top.

What did you do for favors?

We did lottery tickets inside an envelope that said “ I hope you get a winner like I have”.

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.

One of our family friends designed and made the donut wall. My little sister drew and designed our wedding programs that were made into fans. We had a photo booth-like station that had a custom stand.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

Yes, I wore the earrings my older sister wore at her wedding. Also, it is tradition in my family to add a little Bible that was passed on from my grandma into the bouquet of flowers.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Don’t stress on the small stuff or a lot of detail. Do not worry about the weather – it’s going to do what it’s going to do and at the end of the day, all that matters is that you and your future spouse are there with family and friends around to celebrate a very special day!

Why a mountain wedding? What’s your biggest piece of advice for other couples planning a mountain wedding?

Jeff and I both have grown up in Oregon and we love the outdoors! If you’re planning a mountain wedding or an outside wedding, keep it simple and don’t take away from the view!
