This sweet, intimate elopement shoot was inspired by the stunning Himalayan mountains outside of Kathmandu in Nepal. A color palette of deep blue and gold paired with off white and greenery made for one gorgeous mountain inspired design. The florals and styling by Jaclyn Journey, featuring locally foraged blooms and various textures, echoed the landscape surrounding The Fort Resort. We can’t wait for you to take a trip to the Himalayan Mountains with us, thanks to the breathtaking images captured by Alexandra Knight Photography.
From Alexandra Knight Photography:
This gorgeous styled shoot was organized and curated by Nina & Wes Photography for their 2016 workshop in Nepal, The Beyond Workshop. Suzanne & Frederick are a real couple that came to Nepal to model for the workshop, all the way from New Zealand! While in Nepal for this workshop our focus was on creating meaningful images while also finding ways to give of ourselves and our time for service in the community. Our styled shoot was held at the beautiful Fort Resort in Nagarkot, just outside of Kathmandu. Devastated by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, The Fort Resort was actively rebuilding while we stayed there, but it was still a perfect location for our styled shoots since it fully captured the beautiful of the mountains in Nepal.
Using the mountains in Nepal just outside of Kathmandu for inspiration, this sweet and intimate elopement styled shoot came to life! The groom’s suit reflects the beautiful blue tones of the mountains, and the hand made custom paper suite ties in all of the local colors and textures together. Jaclyn Journey’s beautiful floral and styling work featured local foraged blooms, accented with perfect linens and ribbon from Silk & Willow. Since our models are a real life couple, this styled shoot was a chance to bring out their authentic personalities while featuring beautiful design that echoed the stunning landscape and back drop for our shoot. This shoot was photographed entirely with Kodak film!
Jaclyn Journey & Abany Bauer created a stunning tablescape, perfect for the bride & groom’s guests at their mountain elopement. The table features Silk & Willow linens, local blooms and other found textures and elements borrowed from our venue to give our tablescape as much character as possible. The table is situated on the roof top of our venue, The Fort Resort, which had a breathtaking view looking down into the valley below the resort.
