Gorgeous Burgandy and Gold Winter Wedding In Lake Tahoe

All the pretty snow, the gorgeous burgundy and gold details, and the classically elegant bride and groom make me so happy on this cloudy morning as the Eastern Sierra waits for a long over due snow storm. And that ski guest book is the best. By far my all-time favorite mountain wedding detail!

Stephanie, from One Fine Day Events (one of my top recommended mountain wedding planners) sent over this lovely winter wedding in Lake Tahoe.  She had this to say about it:

Liz and Gerry’s wedding weekend took place at the base of the mountain in Squaw Valley. Guests gathered a few days prior to the big celebration to ski, enjoy a little apres, and vacate from their everyday lives. They wanted to make sure the wedding was very different from the additional events. So, we held the rehearsal dinner at a bustling pizza restaurant called Fire Side Pizza in the village and we held the welcome party at Uncorked, a wine bar steps away from the slopes! Everything was intimate, cozy, and inviting.

The ceremony took place inside PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn. They had a small group of 75ppl and the ceremony room was over 2000 square feet. To create an intimate environment, we setup a circular ceremony and the bride and groom stood in the middle with candles hanging overhead. To add a little romance to the setting, Bellissima Floral created a canopy of candles hanging from the ceiling and used tall oversized hurricanes to hold candles at each of the four aisles. Guests were invited to sign the “guest book” which was made up of an old fashioned pair of skis that the couple recently purchased for their future Tahoe home!

Liz and Gerry requested a mountain wedding complete with candles, deep burgundy colors, and natural elements. We searched through every La Tavola linen book and found the perfect linen to compliment the bridesmaid’s dress and the “burgundy” color. The linen had a floral texture, which added a little accent and warmth to the entire look. Instead of using tapered candle holders in their traditional way, Bellissima placed a flower bud on the head of the holder and blended them with candles and larger arrangements. We also used PlumpJack’s candelabras to add a little height and dimension to the long kings tables and Bellissima incorporated tall twigs and flowers to complete the look with a natural element.
