Gaga Over Gifted: Great DIY Ideas for the Christmas Bride

Find Wedding Inspiration Everywhere!

I read a fantastic post over on Thrifty in White about how your wedding tastes are likely to change during the year or so you plan you wedding. And ain't that the truth! Just browse through my Delicious account and see how my own asthetic has changed. It's like day and night.

In the end, some of the most influential resources for designing my own wedding were, well, design blogs. They're fantastic for generating ideas for DIY projects, gifts, and centerpieces and tablescapes.

Case in point, Creature Comforts just published their online mag, Gifted, which is chock full of inspiring ideas and projects that can easily be incorporated into your wedding. Here's a few of my faviorite things for the Christmas Bride:

Handpainted Monogramed Cards:  The perfect thank you cards! Or even the perfect invitation. Or the perfect logo for everything.

Simple and Sweet:  These look to me like juniper berries stripped of needles. I imagine holly berries and Juniper berries would both be delightgul in small, understated antique jars.

Lanterns: I love the tablescapes with lanterns. These red lanterns with vellum reindeer cuts outs are the sweetest. Going for a more elegant fete? Try blue or silver lanters with snowflake cutouts.

Paper Snowflakes on Vintage Bottles: I'd like to catagorize this under the damn-why-didn't-I-think-of-that group. As soon as you see it, it's so obvious. I would have loved to have dressed up my own tables with these at our ski wedding. Sigh.

Embroidered Wood: I've seen a couple of brides and grooms embroidering their wedding date or initials on wooden rounds for their bridal shoots. Love! It's just so sweet, and whimsical.
