Lauren and David hail from the peach state, Georgia, so it’s no surprise the couple chose to have a beautiful destination wedding in the Smoky Mountains.
Any couple hopes that everything goes to plan on their big day, but sometimes things don’t quite go that way. Having planned to prepare for the special day in two separate cabins, the couple realized what they saw online didn’t meet their standards in person. The cabins in the Smokies could be hit and miss, unfortunately on this day it was a miss.
Lauren and David ended up at DreamMore Resort and Black Fox Hotel instead. Their fairy godmother must have been looking over them, for it turned out to be a stunning location for pictures. It also allowed Amanda of Amanda May Photos and the wedding videographer to travel in the limo with the bride-to-be to the ceremony. Knowing his finace had always dreamed of a Princess-y wedding day David felt like the limo ride would make her feel that regality. The whole ride Lauren could not stop gushing over her husband-to-be. His thoughtfulness. His generosity.

- Getting a limo for Lauren to travel to the reception in and for them both to ride back into their reception
- He wanted to celebrate their Scottish ancestors by doing a kilt for the ceremony
Their wedding did certainly feel like a fairytale. Lauren sparkled in a romantic ballgown with flower details by The Something Blue Shoppe. The natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains provided a storybook picturesque view. Above The Mist Weddings gave them beautiful dreamy flower arrangements. And the vows the couple shared certainly tugged at guests heartstrings. David told his bride in his vows, “A chisel mo chroi,” which means “pulse of my heart.” David’s two sons were also included in the ceremony where the couple vowed to commit to loving the boys, as they become a family and move into the next chapter of their story.
