Gold and Lace Mason Jar Table Numbers

gold painted lace wrapped mason jar DIY

I pretty much in love with two things: spray paint and David Turera. Last fall I did a post on rustic bling using the David Turera  signature product line. You can imagine my excitement when he rolled out the David Tutera Casual Elegance line, available exclusively at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.

David Tutera Casual Elegance marries rustic charm with modern flair. Warm naturals like burlap, tin and kraft paper are updated as votive wraps, candy favor boxes and die cuts. Stripes, lace and other simple accents add an easy, sweet vintage spirit. The result is a line of beautiful wedding day accessories that coordinate with any color scheme. Casual Elegance is perfect for adding personality to your special day!

OK, that said, I have to tell you that this is a sponsored post and that I got a delightful box of goodies from David Tutera and I’m getting paid to create this tutorial. But I also have to tell you that I DO NOT take every sponsored opportunity that comes across my inbox. I only take the ones that I love and that I know you’ll love. So with that, here’s a tutorial on gold lace wrapped mason jar table numbers:

Supplies:

  • Mason Jar
  • Chalkboard spray paint
  • Gold metallic spray paint
  • Ribbon in your choice of color (I chose a pale pink)
  • Chalk Ink pen
  • Scissors
  • 2 bunched of pink carnations (optional)

Supplies for gold painted, lace wrapped mason jars

Step One:

Spray paint the outside of your jar with gold metallic paint. Be sure to do this outside on a nice day with a drop cloth or kraft paper protecting your lawn. I used cut up paper grocery bags.

If you want a more rustic look, just paint with gold. The paint will likely mar and scratch in transit. If you want a perfect gold look, apply a final clear coat of spray paint after the gold paint dries. You can use glossy or flat clear paint, depending on your preference.

Step Two:

Wrap your mason jar with a David Tutera Casual Elegance Lace Jar Wrap. Here’s where the magic happens. Notice the absence of a glue gun or rotary scissors! You don’t have to be a craft maven to do this, nor do you have to invest in craft supplies you’ll never use. Each lace wrap has a velcro seam, so you simply pull of the plastic backing to reveal the glue strip and wrap your jar. Easy-peasy!!!

Step Three

Spray paint the David Tutera Casual Elegance Tags with chalkboard paint. Again, make sure to do this outdoors on a nice day :-)

Step Four:

Hand draw your table numbers with a chalk ink pen. Hand drawing give it a personalized and casual feel. Don’t worry about being perfect; that’s part of the charm.

Step Five:

Cut a selection of ribbon to fit around the mason jar with enough room to tie a bow. Thread the tag with the ribbon and wrap around the lip of the jar. Secure with a pretty, hand-tied bow.

Final Step (Optional)

You can actually leave the jar empty to serve as your table number and it will look just fine. For a sweet romantic look, add a poesy of carnations or peonies. Here I used two bunches of pink carnations I picked up from the grocery store.

Finish the look by setting the centerpiece/table number on  a David Tutera Casual Elegance Lace Doily
