Californ-I-A! A Mammoth Mountain Wedding

First let me say this:

I've arrived in Mammoth Lakes, CA  just in time to enjoy the fruits of a 16 foot dump of a snow storm. We are in the midst of a second storm cycle that has brought a more modest, but freaking fantastic, three feet of snow. I have been skiing every day. Can I get a woohoo!? Though the Eastern Sierra are spectacular, there aren't many published weddings that highlight the area. {Eastside brides, let's change that!.} But the ones that are out there are gorgeous. Case in point, Jen and Toffy's Mammoth Lakes wedding. Check out the full post on Grey Likes Weddings.

Actually, although there is still a butt load of snow in the mountains, this is actually springtime in Mammoth Lakes. You can usually ski on the Fourth of July here.

Mountain wedding tip: The first image and the second image are a 5 minute drive from on another– one is off of Old Mammoth Road and the other is up at Twin Lakes. Portraits may take a little longer and involve more logistical planning in small, scenic mountain towns like Mammoth Lakes. Make sure you check with your photographer and/or wedding planning about allowing for portraits at different scenic locations.

I just love you handmade-lovin' mountains gals! Doing a wedding this sweet and elegant in such a remote location is no small feat. In western North Carolina, you have Asheville. Asheville has everything you might need to put together a charming handmade wedding such as this: craft stores, thrift stores, antique shops, everything. The eastern sierra…um…not so much. The closest city that is comparable to Asheville in services is Carson City/ Reno, NV. The bride and groom, along with their families, imported all of their lovely handmade decorations and DIY pieces in. Read more about this bride's DIY projects at Grey Likes Weddings.
