From the bride:

“Our wedding day flowed with cosmic energy: intense lightning, growls of thunder beings, and delicious sunny blue skies kissing peoples faces as we played outside and sang kirtan. We were blessed with fabulous song and divine sufi circle dancing, by the words of Hafiz, and by the voices of so many elders in our Naropa and Hakomi communities.

David and Lila Tressmer facilitated our wedding as a recreation of A Midsummer Night’s dream and our friends sang and danced in the full regalia of the fairies and elven ones of the forest. We received so many blessings and felt truly at one with the great oneness as all 111 of us chanted Sita Ram while the great galvanic forces raged outside the great temple.

As soon as our guests pronounced us “husband and wife, consorts for life” and we shared our delectable kiss, the clouds parted to reveal the most beautiful blue sky day. After a round of intimacy games, sacred sufi circle dancing, and being lifted over heads in our hand painted sparkle peacock chairs we celebrated with an epic dance party at Shine with DJs Cualli and Jesse Chesnutt and transporting visuals by Andrew Brislin and a show of visual magic by Eric Batliner. The most fantastic day of my life thus far. So much LOVE! And this is just the first of many, many epic creations that we two beloveds shall create together!”

From the photographer

Andrew and Maura’s Boulder wedding at the Star House was, in one word, Magical. I have never seen such an enchanted couple–so absolutely taken by each other–that they light up the hearts of everyone around them. Their energy is undeniable; there’s something cosmic about these two that has to be seen to be believed.

I don’t understand it, but the weather was perfectly timed to the day’s events: boisterous thunder and lighting while indoors, giving way to rich, blue skies while outdoors. I think everyone at their ceremony was aware that as the energy of the crowd grew to it’s climax, so too did the sun grow to outshine the thunderous skies–only being outshone by Maura’s glowing smile as she couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by the emotion of it all.
