Autumnal Sunset Harvest Styled Shoot

This styled shoot was inspired by the fiery sunset tones of autumnal foliage. Windham Manor, a Victorian mansion boasting a newly-constructed barn located in the Catskills Region, north of New York City, was the perfect setting to create this modern, earthy, sunset harvest wedding. Peach, terracotta, leather and sandstone were the overall colors incorporated into the design. Florals included toffee and quicksand color roses, local dahlias, firebush, amaranth and castor bean, among many others. The ceremony decor was set atop a slight hill near the Manor house, against a backdrop of late fall foliage. Vibrant sunset hues carried forth in two pillars of florals and foliage which framed the couple. Immediately upon entering the barn, a statement floating centerpiece of dried hydrangea and a mix of fresh flowers and foliage drew the eye upward to the high ceilings and surrounding catwalk that lead to a terrace overlooking the mountain view. The long wood kings table was the perfect backdrop to a delicate taupe tulle tablecloth adorned with straw flowers, dried amaranth, fern and greenery. The autumn inspiration carries through all aspects of the wedding including minimal warm toned stationary and a harvest-inspired cocktail hour spread. A majestic pair of horses and a vintage truck added an authentic touch to this beautiful, modern, barn house setting

Gown #1 (Private Label) is a slim-fit modified A-line with a beautiful cap sleeve detail. The delicate embroidered lace is accented by an under-layer of patterned shimmer that glows from underneath. This dreamy shape shows the figure while still maintaining a classic bride vibe. This dress features a dramatic low back delicately accented with crystal buttons. It truly is perfect for a Bohemian theme. Gown #2 (Pollardi) is a long sleeve, Chantilly lace perfect for the bride looking for a little bit of everything. The romantic lace sculpts the body, while the delicate crystal and beadwork provides just the right level of sparkle. A daring plunge front and back offer a bit of sexiness to an otherwise classic sheath silhouette. A modern dress with a vintage flair, this gown is the perfect wedding day look.

Please describe any DIY, handmade or personal details.

Hand-lettered leather strips used as place cards added an unexpected element to the place settings.

Describe the tablescape elements.

We were able to use toffee and quicksand color roses, local dahlias, firebush, amaranth and castor bean among many others. All in beautiful unique vases and ikebana bowls, surrounded by a lively inferno of candles. The tablescape was accented with mini apples and persimmon. Inspired by drying flowers from the florist’s little flower farm, we wanted to incorporate them as part of the actual tablecloth. The long wood kings table was the perfect backdrop to a delicate taupe tulle tablecloth adorned with straw flowers, dried amaranth, fern and greenery. It felt effortless and a bit dramatic. Amix of pillar and taper candles in warm sunset hues decorated the table along with pale stone colored blooms. Delicate and beautiful.
