The sky is truly the limit when it comes to getting married in the mountains, and we’re fairly certain that Ashika and Ryan upheld that sentiment. The mountains have always held a special place between this pair since their engagement; they took a helicopter to the peak of the mountains and recreated that again for their wedding day in Whistler. They hopped on a Blackcomb Helicopter with Karizma Photography and surrounded by their nearest and dearest, they made it forever in the snowy altitude of the Coast Mountains. With mountaineering boots to add!
Why a Mountain Wedding?
We both love being in the mountains, we met each other through the mountains, and we grow our love within the mountains. It only made sense to consummate our marriage in the mountains!
What are three things you’re glad you did?
A small wedding with only our family; wear mountaineering boots; hire both a videographer and photographer.
What are 3 things you wished you hadn’t done or hadn’t worried about?
It would have been lovely to spend more time up there. 45 minutes flew by way too fast; I would have asked the photographer to come earlier for more pictures while getting ready; look up ideas for the first look (we had no idea what we were doing!).
How did you find your vendors?
We found all of our vendors online based on reviews and observing portfolios of what we liked and didn’t like.
What’s your biggest piece of advice for other couples planning a mountain wedding?
When planning a mountain wedding, keep it simple. The mountains are inexplicably grand and awe-inspiring and don’t need much dressing up. If you just choose to show up and recite your vows, it would be the most incredible experience you could ever imagine.
