Intimate Yosemite Wedding with Romantic Pink and Rustic Details

For their gorgeous Yosemite National Park wedding, Brittany + Daryl chose a few simple but beautiful details like romantic pink florals and rustic “Just Married” wooden signs and let the splendor of the Sierra be the most prominent and meaningful detail of all.

Why did you choose the Mountains for your wedding?

We have been going to Yosemite every summer since I was a child. When I am in Yosemite it feels like being home. Last year was the first year that my now husband joined my family in Yosemite for the yearly trip. On our way home to San Diego he told me that his only goal was to stay together with me so that he could come back next year.

When it came to deciding where we wanted to have our small wedding we knew it just had to be in Yosemite. There is no better place to start a beautiful new chapter in our lives than a place that is naturally beautiful.

What was your theme for your wedding?

We went with a very simple rustic theme, the last thing we wanted was to complete with the beauty of the valley.

Where did you find your inspiration?

I scoured online wedding websites and pintrest.

Your budget

$15K

How did you personalize your wedding?

Most of the decorations that we had at the wedding my mother, sister, aunt, and cousins made. My aunt (and Godmother) officiated our wedding, making it extra special.

Your favorite part of the reception?

My little sister’s speech and singing. She was the most amazing maid of honor. She sang Train’s Marry Me at our reception, and it was so heart warmingly beautiful.

Three things you’re super glad you did?

Location. Having our wedding in a place of serene beauty was a top goal for us, and Yosemite quickly became the best choice.

Kept the party small. We resisted the urge to invite everyone we knew, and kept it just family and close friends. It made everything so much more intimate and special. We were able to spend time with our guests and enjoy every moment.

Photographer. We wanted to make sure we found a photographer that had a style we liked and a price we could afford. Jon was above and beyond any expectations we could have had for a photographer. His photographs captured the details of our wedding and the beauty of the surroundings. If there is one thing to spend your money on, it is the photographer.

What was the biggest challenge in planning your mountain wedding and how did you overcome it?

We wanted to get married before we took a three year assignment in Belgium, which gave us only 2 months to plan. In the end I think it was for the best, we made all our decisions so fast there was really no time for stress.

How did you find and choose your vendors?

I did a lot of research on Yelp.

What is your best piece of advice to other mountain brides who are planning their weddings?

Enjoy every moment.
